“I told you he would wake up once we almost had all the food cooked,” Amanda said.
“Yeah, he always would sleep in as a kid, which was crazy because he also was always taking a lot of naps. I remember one time when he was in elementary school, and it was during the winter. He took a nap when he got home from school and slept for hours. When he woke up, he started to get ready for school. He thought it was the next day and was late for school. We were so confused when he walked out into the living room with his backpack over his shoulder and went to the front door to go and wait for the bus,” they laughed together.
I squeezed past them so that I could grab a cup of coffee.”You could have told me when I went out of the door. I waited ten minutes at the bus stop, wondering where everyone was and why the bus was so late.”
“Awe, my poor little sleepyhead,” Amanda said as she hugged me from behind. I wanted to be cranky, but that was hard when she hugged me. Breakfast was terrific, and even though it didn’t make my headache go away, all the food I, along with the coffee, helped me shake off the grogginess from my hangover.
