“Wow…” Joseph managed to utter through face breaths. Nina giggled.
“Looks like someone made a mess…” She remarked cutely. Joseph couldn’t look at her. Despite everything, he still felt uncomfortable. However for the first time in his life, he felt alive. This experience was so unique to him, it was almost unreal.
“Am I dreaming?” He asked her, in a daze. Nina giggled once more. The sound of a engine came from outside the house.
“No… but looks like your sisters home.” Nina removed her soiled socks and handed them to him. “Take care of these for me, cutey.” Joseph nodded. She masterfully buttoned up her blouse and fixed her hair.
“You aren’t going to say anything…. are you?” He asked shamefully. Nina said nothing, but shook her head yes towards him. The front door swung open, and a very unhappy Cheryl swept into the room. Joseph quickly shoved the seamen covered socks in his pocket. Her makeup was all splotchy from crying and her shoulders slumped as she walked.
“Worst birthday ever.” Cheryl mumbled as she headed straight up the stair case towards her room. Joseph’s mind and heart were racing. Nina looked over at him and put a finger up to her lips, with a sly grin.
