They paid up front for six months of storage and hotel charges, including all the moving costs, plus an inconvenience bonus of $5000 for each tenant, all courtesy of their insurance company.
I didn’t have much stuff worth to storing, so I didn’t bother with that. I kept the money and gave anything worth a hoot to the local thrift store. As for the hotel, I pocketed that money too, having let Allie talk me into staying at their place instead.
Or maybe I should say “our place.” It turns out the owners of the little lake house Allie, Nikki and Diego were renting suddenly became interested in selling when they heard our offer.
Allie should be home soon. She wants to play a different game tonight. She promises it will be even more fun than the other game we played. Nikki and Diego will be playing too, of course.
Oh, in case you were wondering, Diego got to have that threesome he’d been dreaming about on Saturday night after I left. The next time I saw him, he was smiling like a kid in a candy store who discovered something that tasted sweeter than he’d ever imagined.
Nikki and I know just how he feels.
