“Bryn! Nice surprise!” Magya wound her way through the rubble in her living room and gave me a hug and a tongue-teasing kiss while rubbing her tits into mine. I kissed her back and we lingered, our tits rubbing together.
“Great to see you too!” I said, enjoying her embrace. “Looks like they’re demolishing the place!”
“Yes! Yes! I tink it’s going to be so nice, don’t you, just look at how it all has changed already, and how bit this room is!” she said in one breath.
To say she was excited was an understatement.
“I do, yes. Steele showed me the plans. It’ll be fantastic.”
Just then Steele walked up to us. “What did I do?” he grinned.
I put my arm around his waist, looked up at him sweetly, and said, “Showed me the plans for here.”
He frowned, looked at me, and said, “Oh… Oh sure. I did.” He got it finally and smiled down at me, hugging me against his side and keeping me there.
Magya didn’t miss the interchange and it saved face for everyone. I was sharing my soon to be ex-husband with a stranger; no fucking way was I sharing Steele with this beautiful, sexy woman. Even though I would have approved of the encounter, as long as I was there. But we needed to keep it business, although it did make for some hot fanstasy.
She told us that she would be going on tour for four months. I could see the relief on Steele’s face knowing there would be no more changes.
“By the time you get back, it should be all done,” I said. “That’ll be a nice homecoming!”
“Yeah yeah, I love it here,” she said, walking to the sliders to the balcony.
The view was simply breathtaking, and I couldn’t help but imagine the city buildings illuminated at night, casting a magical glow.
We wished her well on her tour, her first one in the United States. But she didn’t need it because her first shows were already sold out.
After we got into his truck I said, “That was some good news for you hmm?”
“Which? That she knows I’m taken or that she won’t be around to change things six times a day?” he laughed.
“Both!”
“You got that right!”

As a first step into easing me into the family, Steele planned a cookout at his house with Myer’s brothers and wives.
I braced myself for the upcoming barbecue, feeling a mix of anticipation and unease. It was a crucial opportunity for me to navigate my new position within the family, no longer a sister-in-law, but as an upcoming mother-in-law. That I hadn’t been well accepted before added to my anxiety.
While the family was already aware of my divorce and my decision to be with Steele, I couldn’t help but wonder how they would react to the significant changes that lay ahead. Would they be accepting and understanding, or would there be moments of discomfort and tension? Only time would tell.
I wanted to ensure that the day went smoothly, free from any lingering awkwardness caused by the recent developments. Perhaps the relaxed atmosphere, good food, and the laughter with the family members could create a sense of unity.
As I completed preparations, I felt a mix of excitement and trepidation. The day would be a defining moment, marking the beginning of a new chapter in all our lives. Steele had done what he could. It was up to me now. I took a deep breath, reminding myself that I had the strength to face them all.
Late that night Steele said, “Well that went much better than I’d have dreamt.”
The dishwasher was full and running and I was wiping the countertops. “Exceedingly. I can say I’m shocked actually. I made sure that I didn’t get caught alone with any of them so I wouldn’t get questions. If anyone wondered, they didn’t indicate it.” I thought about the exchange. “The wives even invited me to a bridal shower.”
“You did great, babe. Everyone did. I was proud of the whole family, including you since you’re family.”
“Thank you, I was pretty anxious about it.”
Steele poured us both a whiskey and we went out to the patio. The fire had burnt to embers. The kind you can stare into for hours lost in your own thoughts. Seemed we both did that because I was surprised when Steele said it was time for bed. The fire had about died out and there was a chill in the air.
We stripped and climbed into bed. He spooned in behind me and I snuggled into his arms. This is what real love is, I thought. Sometimes the closeness is not only good enough but just perfect. I dozed off feeling more loved than I’d ever felt in my life, and I hoped Steele felt the same.

Myer was back and wanted to talk. No way was I having him come to Steele’s house, and I wasn’t about to go to my former house, so I suggested my office.
“Richie, you’re not going to like this,” I said, talking loudly until he popped his head around the corner. “Myer is on his way here. He wants to talk about the divorce.” If there was an award for eye-rolls, Richie had the gold medal. I laughed. “I know I know. But your important job to do is if this thing starts to run over, my phone will ring, and I’ll have to take the call.”
“Got it! I was sorta hoping you’d say I was allowed to toss him out of your office on his ass, but a phone call works too,” he grinned, disappearing again.
“I can’t believe you still have that gay boy around, Bryn,” Myer said, closing the door behind him but not before he said that.
“Nice. Really nice to see you’re still the same bigot you’ve always been.” I sat behind my desk, paperwork stacked in front of me as though I was ready to dismiss him very soon. “Why are you here, Myer?”
”We haven’t even talked since you served me with divorce papers. Didn’t give us time to work it out. I thought maybe you might move with me to see if you like it there. Check out the job climate.”
I let out a sigh, the weight of the past few months settling heavily on my shoulders. “Myer, we’ve had plenty of time to work things out, but it’s clear that we’re no longer compatible. Moving with you won’t change that. Besides, I have my own life here, my own career and business to focus on.”
He looked at me with pleading eyes, his voice tinged with desperation. “But don’t you remember all the good times we had? The laughter, the adventures… We can find our way back to that, I know we can.”
I couldn’t help but remember those moments too—the early days of our marriage filled with hope and shared dreams. But the reality had become far too different. “Myer, memories alone can’t sustain a relationship. We’ve grown apart, and it’s time to accept that. We both deserve to find happiness elsewhere.”
His shoulders slumped, and he ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “I just wish you would reconsider, give us another chance. We can go to counseling, and work through our issues together. Move with me. We can make it work.”
The pleading in his voice tugged at my heartstrings, but I knew deep down that his words were fueled more by fear of the unknown than a genuine commitment to change. “Myer, I’ve already made up my mind. It’s time for us to move on. I deserve to be with someone who truly loves and understands me, and so do you.”
I didn’t add that I knew he had already found a replacement for me.
A mix of sadness and resignation flickered in his eyes as he took a step back. “So, that’s it then? Just like that, our marriage is over?”
I met his gaze, my voice steady. “Yes, that’s the reality of it. We can’t force something that’s no longer there. It’s time to accept it and find our own paths forward.”
He nodded, the weight of acceptance settling upon him. “I understand. You’re right, we can’t keep clinging. I just hoped we could have tried a little longer.”
Silence hung in the air, the unspoken words between us echoing with lost dreams together. As he turned to leave, a brief moment of emptiness washed over me—a reminder of the life we once shared. But amidst that sadness, a glimmer of hope emerged. The knowledge that I had a whole new future to look forward to—one where I could rediscover myself and enjoy my new life with Steele.

One year later….

Magya’s condominium was completed, and it turned out we did enjoy it. She became a good friend and gave us the key when she was on tour. We would spend nights there on occasion and the view was fantastical, just as I thought.
Steele and I got married and his sons and daughter in laws all were at the wedding and genuinely happy for us.
Although he was invited, Myer didn’t come. And it wasn’t because of what you all might think. Of course, he was shocked about his father and me. But more so that none of his family told him about us and kept it a secret from him. I was sure he felt betrayed by them, but he brought it on himself because they soon discovered that he did indeed have someone waiting for him.
From their viewpoint, that was what pushed me into Steele’s arms. It wouldn’t have done anyone any good by indicating the contrary.
In the end, everyone was happy because I convinced Myer’s brothers to make amends so were ended up one big happy family.
