Literotic asexstories – World 01 Arc 01 Ch. 11 – A Stroll in Town by PenOfChaos,PenOfChaos The climate in the region was quite pleasant at this time of year. So my mother and I decided to take a stroll after we were done with our lunch. We spent the afternoon strolling through the streets of my town.
A bright sun had risen high in the sky, but the streets were still bustling with people going about their business. Being a small town, most of them were engaged in agriculture and livestock.
Carts of farm produce were going around to be delivered to the merchants who would sell them in the nearby towns and cities, sent for further processing, or stored.
I was holding a hand-woven sun shade that covered both me and my mother. It was designed like an umbrella but was wider. It was also light, which made it almost perfect to be used as a kite.
That’s why I was holding it tightly, as I didn’t want the slight breeze that was flowing to blow it away.
Seeing me take such a trivial matter seriously, my mother began to giggle.
“What?” I asked, a bit exasperated.
“Don’t you remember?” she said. “When you were little and we went out like this, you always requested that I let you hold the umbrella.” She then laughed lightly and continued, “But your hands were so tiny that I had trouble walking, so I would have to carry you while you carried the umbrella.”
She teased, “You really used to “help” me.”
I became a bit embarrassed, as I also realized I was a troublesome child to handle.
That was a thing of the past, though.
Shaking off my thoughts, I puffed my chest proudly before speaking in a smug tone, “Don’t worry, Mom. I’m all grown up now.” I even raised the shade even higher, as if showing off my long arms.
My mother chuckled before smiling sweetly. She caressed my cheek with her soft hands and nodded. “Yes, you’re a big boy now.”
“Damn! I’m a man now, Mom.” I exclaimed, “Big boy sounds so stupid.”
“Is that so?” My mother gave me a surprised look, as if she were genuinely surprised by my outlook, rendering me speechless.
Just like that, we continued our relaxed stroll around the town.
The familiar vibe came back to me as I observed and experienced all the elements that I had missed.
As for the changes that my mother had mentioned earlier, there were none.
Well, except for one…
“Hm?” I looked down at the path I was walking on as I commented, “These stones seemed to be newly paved?”
“How odd…”
“Odd indeed.” My mother also nodded as she observed the street we were passing through.
It was one of the main paths that ran through the center of the city, connecting two of its extreme ends and allowing easy travel.
Although this town was not as prosperous as the cities, the roads here were still well maintained. Especially this street. After all, it was basically the lifeline of the town’s economy as it connected the farming area and the market.
The town had no mayor. Just some officials that were appointed by the city region we came under.
But the ones who paid for this maintenance were not them. The farmers themselves collected the funds to maintain it. Of course, other people, like my family, also contributed.
But what my mother and I found odd was that the road had not undergone temporary maintenance. No. Instead, the whole path looked as if it had been made only today.
Furthermore, the stones used in the construction were not the usual sandstones.
Scattered around were more beautifully arranged and intricately cut stones that were clearly not cheap.
“Did those officials finally find their conscience?” That was the only thing I could blurt out about this strange phenomenon.
But my mother, as a resident of the town, had more serious considerations to make. Furthermore, as a contributor to the fund that was used for road maintenance, she had the right to be informed if something this major was going to take place.
Suddenly, her eyebrows jumped at the thought of a possibility.
Looking at the path that trailed off into the distance, a faint guess formed in my mother’s mind.
But I didn’t think much as I said, “Shall we go home?”
My mother came out of her thoughts before she gave a smile and nodded.
“Yes, let’s go home.”
…
It was already late in the evening when we came back home.
Although we had walked around quite a bit, we were both not tired at all.
For me, it went without saying that something like a walk wasn’t enough to exhaust me. But even my mother had a well-maintained physique, as she didn’t look tired at all.
“What is it?” My mother caught me staring at her and asked while making her eyebrows jump.
“Nothing.” I smiled. “Just admiring a beautiful sight.”
To my surprise, my mother actually blushed. As I thought I was seeing things incorrectly, she hurriedly changed her expression before snorting in discontent. “If only you had used such skills to woo a girl in the capital.” She sighed, “How great that would have been.”
I pursed my lips at the mention of this perpetually annoying topic.
Intending to change the topic, I said in retort, “Then why don’t you come with me?” I asked. “Then you’ll be able to choose as many girls as you find to your liking.”
My mother fell into thought as she muttered, “To the capital, hm…” But she then shook her head before her hand launched itself towards my ear.
“Choose as many as I like, is it?” She said it in mock anger. “You can’t even find one, and you are dreaming of having a harem here?” She scoffed in disdain at my foolish dreams.
We were so busy with our mockery that we didn’t even notice as we entered the mansion and arrived back near the dining area.
“Hm?”
Mother and I gazed at the kitchen floor, where a bunch of maids were lying around randomly. They all had exhausted looks on their faces, even though they had already fallen asleep.
“Hum? Ah! Madam!” Suddenly, Aunt Yena, who was the only one sleeping on a chair, opened her eyes as she looked at us. She stood up straight, her face a bit awkward. She then looked at the other maids, who were sleeping, and sighed helplessly. “Madam, we–”
“It’s alright.” My mother waved her hand, as she already knew what Aunt Yena was about to say.
She then asked, “It must have been due to the dinner preparations, correct?”
“Yes, Madam.” Aunt Yena nodded as she looked at me before explaining in a helpless tone, “The meat the young master brought with him was really tough to work with.” She informed us, “We had to employ all the hands before we were able to finish preparing it.”
I felt a bit awkward, as I had completely forgotten about this point.
If I had known it would come to this, I should have done it myself before we left. I thought. But there was nothing we could really do now that it had already happened.
“But don’t worry, Madam.” Aunt Yena said. “We’ve already finished the preparations; I’ll wake them up so we can start working on the dinner.” She paused before adding weakly, “After all, we don’t know how much time it’ll take for the meat to be cooked.”
“No need.” But my mother refused. She looked at the tired maids and said, “Just let them rest for now; we’ll leave it for tomorrow.”
“I’ll prepare something light for dinner by myself.”
“But, Madam.” Aunt Yena turned anxious. “The young master will be leaving tomorrow.” She reminded.
My mother’s expression froze. She seemed to have neglected this point.
But before she could say anything, I stepped in.
“Don’t worry, Mom.” I said in a reassuring tone, “The meat will be prepared today.” I then turned towards Aunt Yena and said, “Aunt Yena, wake them up and make them go to their rooms to rest.”
I turned back to my mother and smiled. “Mom and I will be the ones cooking tonight.”
