She seemed to get lost in thought a little, but I let her finish.
“I’m sorry.” she said, “I’m sorry for always choosing her over you…but she’s my best friend, you know?”
I nodded. It actually felt good for her to admit this to me. We hadn’t discussed it since we were kids.
“But now, it seems like we can finally all hang out together again, just like we used to!” she said.
I guess she remembered our childhood a little differently.
