Michelle looked at Tara, her face calm, “if it was wise I wouldn’t ask you.” Tara was her latest penance. Sins committed must be punished. ‘Memento mori’ were the words tattooed on the back of Michelle’s neck.
“But I’m not sure you do realise how much I hate you.” Tara’s composure was starting to fray.
Michelle said nothing. She just looked.
“I hate you, yet I have what I wanted thanks to you,” Tara began to cry. “I’m sorry.” Tara pressed the button on the remote.
Michelle arched against the restraints and screamed.
In the hallway, Jane jumped at the sound and held onto Miss M’s shoulder-bag even more tightly.
