I could see Gran outside the van as I walked back from my shower, it looked like she was making a cafetiere of coffee. She hadn’t noticed me yet but I could see her moving about and looked radiant! As I got nearer, I could hear her humming Madame Butterfly and she was arranging what looked like pastries on a plate and setting them on the table. She must have heard me approaching because she turned around and stepped towards me with her arms open wide and a big smile on her face.
“Good morning dear!” She said before kissing me on the cheeks and wrapping her arms around me.
“Hey Gran, you must have been up early?”
“Well, you were fast asleep when I got back last night, I didn’t have the best night sleep to be honest!” She ran her hand through my damp hair. “I just went for a walk to the village first thing, the bakery was open early which was a nice surprise and they have such a variety.”
“Well, it certainly smells nice! How are you feeling?”
“I feel wonderful! Oh, did you get my note?”
“I did, I have to admit that it worried me.”
“Oh?”
“After last night?” I looked at her and had trouble swallowing. “I thought, well….you know!”
“I know what dear?”
“That you had deep regret about what we have done and you wanted to go home.”
“Here!” she motioned to one of the fold out chairs. “Sit down!”
I turned to the chair and pulled it out and nervously sat down on it, my stomach was now tying itself in knots with fear and trepidation. There was no real need to be so worried though, she seemed in good spirits! She sat down next to me and poured coffee for the both of us and placed a mug in front of me, I added milk and then took a large sip before looking at her. She placed her hand on mine and cleared her throat, she was nervous too but was doing a bloody good job of trying to hide it.
“There is no need to worry yourself so much dear! I will admit that I am a little nervous but I think if we are open and honest with each other, there will be nothing to be worried about.” She squeezed my hand reassuringly. I nodded my head and smiled as best as I could.
“I just…” I tried to speak but she shushed me politely.
“Let me say what I need to say first please.” Again she squeezed my hand. “As you know, I went for a shower to freshen up but I also needed time for myself to process everything. I cried!”
“Oh gran.”
“What we did last night was morally wrong! As your grandmother, I should never have put both myself and you in that position! I cried because I worried about you and how we would deal with what we have done afterwards.” She paused and wiped a tear from her eye. “I cried because I have not felt so good for as long as I can remember, and I don’t remember ever feeling that good!”
I felt relieved but I also knew that she was right, we should not have done what we did but I am glad we did. I had been thinking on my own and came to the conclusion that I wasn’t going to make a big deal of things and just take each day for what it was, I would respect her wishes too. I also felt that honesty was the best policy, no point in pretending to be one thing and then being the polar opposite. Everybody will lose in the long run!
“I just want you to know that I have no regrets about last night!” She took a drink from her mug and picked up a Pain au Chocolat and took a bite from it.
“Me neither!” I looked at her with teary eyes, I had feared the worst but her words provided great comfort.
“Can I give you a hug?” she asked quietly.
“You don’t need to ask!” We both stood up and embraced each other, I buried my face into her neck. The warmth of her body and her scent, I wanted to melt right there.
“Let’s get packed up and hit the road, I have something special planned!” She kissed me and wiped the tears from my cheeks.
“Where are we going?”
“Our next destination will be the Lake District, Lake Windermere to be precise and that is all I am saying!” She smiled and tapped the tip of my nose with her index finger.
It took us about half an hour to pack the van up and we agreed that she would do some driving. At first I was reluctant but I just put my faith in her abilities and would strive to be the best passenger I could be! I put on some music via Spotify and sat back with the newspaper that gran had bought that morning, scanning a few pages and then straight for the crossword puzzles. Gran took the van quite quickly and was handling the driving really well, she was smiling and that was all that mattered. Our journey took just over 4 hours due to stopping a couple of times, we talked, we sang and more importantly, we cracked the cryptic crossword with ease. She turned off the main road that ran around the lake and headed down an overgrown lane that hid the entrance to a very impressive house that sat on the edge of the lake, the tyres crunched over the gravel and came to a stop.
“I am so confused right now! Where are we?” I asked her as I took in the scenery around us.
“This will be our home for the next few days, it belongs to a good friend.” Her face lit up. “I know you want to camp and I have been enjoying it too but I just wanted to treat us to this amazing setting.”
“I am not complaining one bit, it is just…” I spun in a circle slowly with my arms outstretched. “Amazing!”
“Let’s check out the grounds and then head inside.” She put her arm around my waist and began to walk towards the lake. I put my arm around her, she squeezed my love handle.
“Oh look! There is a jetty, we are going to do some paddle boarding for sure!” She looked at her with a big grin on my face. “Wild swimming too!”
“Wild swimming?”
“Swim in the lake!”
“Oh dear! I didn’t bring a cossie though!” She grinned at me. “I will just use my underwear or perhaps go natural!”
“Well, if you do then so will I!”
“I will hold you to that!” We both laughed in unison and turned back to the house.
The interior was simple but very decadent, it was geared up as a holiday let instead of a family home like I imagined it would be. As it turned out, it was used as a wedding venue too and had enough bedrooms to sleep up to 12 guests comfortably. The only let down was that the gym and hot tub were being refurbished and were out of action, “bummer” I thought to myself. We headed to the van and brought in our bags and all the food, gran let out a cry of delight when she opened the fridge.
“Oh my! They left us a welcome hamper and the fridge is stocked with some of the basics!” She turned towards me with a bottle of champagne in her hand and grinned at me. “Bubbles!”
“Very nice!” I walked over to her and inspected the hamper and fridge for myself and was pleasantly amazed. “Oh wow, charcuterie, cheese selection and all the gubbins for a cooked breakfast!”
“Shall we choose our bedrooms then?” I found the flute glasses in a cupboard and set them down on the counter.
“We could share if you like? No point in missing the place up too much!” She looked at me as she undid the foil and twisted the bottle to pop the cork without spilling a drop.
“I would like that!” I smiled back at her nervously, she filled our glasses and then handed one to me.
“Good health!” She raised her glass and we clinked them together before draining them, she topped them up again before placing her arm around my waist and pulling me in for a kiss.
As our lips met, I felt an energy coursing through my body that went straight to my vagina. It was taboo, incestuous but it felt amazing nonetheless, my mind flashed back to previous events and I found myself yearning for more but needed to take it slowly. I wanted her to control whatever this was and do it at her own speed and at her own volition. She sucked my tongue and I let out a soft moan of bliss, I placed my left hand on her bum and pushed my fingers down between her lycra clad crack and then squeezed as much of her ass in my hand as I could. She responded by grabbing one of my breasts and pushing it up in her hand and squeezing firmly, our warmth breath mingled as our tongues danced in each other’s mouths.
“Mmmmm!” She pulled her head back. “We have plenty of time dear, I am a little worn out and think I will go lie down for a while! These bubbles have gone straight to my head!”
“No worries!” I wiped my mouth on the back of my hand. “I have a few things I would like to get done and I would like to check out the lake again.”
“Ok dear! Don’t let me sleep too long, I am looking forward to dinner later.”
“I won’t!” I brushed her face with my hand and kissed her on the lips. “Enjoy!”
I decided to make best use of the next few hours by tidying the van, bringing all the bedding into the house and putting it in the washing machine. I found detergent in a cupboard. Satisfied with my efforts, I left the windows and doors open to air it out. Unpacking the paddle boards and inflating them, leaving them leaning against the wall in the car port with their paddles. I walked down to the jetty and took a seat on one of the wooden chairs that was there. It was so serene and made me feel happy. I must have been there for an hour or two and it was only down to the wind picking that I looked to the sky, it was darkening in the distance and looked like there was rain afoot which I didn’t mind. I loved the rain, especially when it was heavy and there was lightning and rolling thunder involved. I smiled to myself. Even though being in the van during a storm would have been amazing, being indoors brought comfort to me. I went back inside after closing the van up again and locking it, filled my glass with the remainder of the champagne and headed into the living room and sat down.
It was just approaching 5 pm, my eyelids were heavy and I decided that it would be best if I set an alarm for 7pm, I would then go and wake her up. Finishing my champagne, I curled my legs beneath myself and leant against the arm of the sofa, closed my eyes and drifted off.

The sound of my alarm stirred me from my nap, stretching my arms wide and then rubbing the sleep from my eyes, daylight receding which made it relatively dark in the room. The sky lit up all of a sudden as lightning struck nearby and I counted the seconds by and then the sounds of thunder rolled. By my calculation, it was about 4 miles away and sounded angry! Walking over to the large window that looked out over the lawn and on to the lake itself, I could barely make out the lights of other properties dotted across on the opposite side of the lake. Mainly due to the rain obscuring it, the sound of which I found rather soothing. I walked back over to where I had been sitting and arranged the cushions before turning towards the hallway, I had to go wake gran up as promised.
